Education Scholarship Program – Grant Monitoring & Visit Scholars Meeting

The month of May was a season for reconnecting, reflecting, and recalibrating with our Scholarship Program Partners.

On May 13, 2026, Nature’s Spring Foundation Inc. (NSFI) and Holy Name University – Official (HNU), Tagbilaran City, Bohol convened for a Grants Monitoring Visit.

The NSFI-HNU partnership began in 2024, serving nine (9) scholars enrolled in various programs from the College of Business and Accountancy.

The visit was an opportunity to review the NSFI-HNU Education Scholarship Program and MOA, share key milestones and concerns on grants implementation and reporting, and ultimately, agree on Ways Forward on how the program may be further developed and the partnership be optimized.

NSFI was represented by NSFI Executive Director Proleta N. Gomez and NSFI Program Officer-Education Kim Chavez. Meanwhile, representing HNU were HNU Scholarships and Employment Opportunities Coordinator John Luigi Gonzaga and HNU Alumni Relations Officer Alpha Luciema Cutamora.

Scholars served by the NSFI-HNU Scholarship Program gathered for a Scholars Meeting last May 15.

In attendance were seven (7) of nine (9) vibrant and promising scholars enrolled in various programs from the College of Business and Accountancy: Accountancy, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Management Accounting.

Acting as Lead Facilitator of the meeting was HNU Scholarships and Employment Opportunities Coordinator John Luigi Gonzaga.

Ms. Vera Villocido, Director of the HNU Center for Institutional Development (CID) officially opened the half-day activity. In her welcome remarks, Ms. Villocido highlighted the important role education and partnerships play in unlocking and investing in human potential. More than financial assistance, the NSFI-HNU partnership has been instrumental in giving “young people the chance to pursue higher education” so that they may “discover their gifts and build a brighter future.”

During the Meeting Proper, NSFI Program Officer-Education Kim Chavez presented a refresher of the Scholarship Program, Scholar Roles & Responsibilities, and Scholar Internship & Job Placement Opportunities. Scholars also shared academic updates and progress, as well as scholarship concerns and aspirations.

The Scholarship Grants Monitoring Visit & Scholar Meeting in Bohol is the first of a series of partners and scholars meetings slated for 2026.

Ultimately, it is expected that the visits will serve as a platform for dialogue and an opportunity to listen to the lived experiences of our youth scholars and education partners, consequently facilitating learning between NSFI and its NGO/HEI scholarship grant partners and building a culture of trust and transparency during the entire grants management lifecycle.
