NSFI sign grant agreement with PROCESS Bohol for disaster resilience and climate action in Bien Unido, Bohol

NSFI and Process Bohol Inc. officially sealed the partnership on May 11 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, as both organizations signed a grant agreement for the project, Enhancing Climate Change Action and Resilient Environment of Coastal Communities in Bien Unido or eC-CARE.

The eC-CARE Project will work at the barangay level — generating climate risk data that will directly inform Bien Unido’s Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) and building the institutional capacity needed to replicate these approaches across the municipality’s remaining 13 barangays. On the ground, it will also establish community-managed mangrove nurseries, targeting mangrove seedlings that will be planted across 2 hectares of coastal areas.

The signing was accompanied by an orientation on NSFI’s grant management framework — a participatory approach that places PROCESS Bohol and the communities they serve as active partners, not just recipients, in every stage of the project.

NSFI also joined PROCESS Bohol in a courtesy call to LGU Bien Unido on May 12 — recognizing that local government partnership is central to the project’s success and long-term sustainability. Engaging the LGU directly reflects the project’s commitment to working within and alongside existing governance structures.
